Despite Carrées typically getting more spotlight as an earlier and purer expression of Cartier’s first square integrated sports watch, I’ve always personally preferred Galbées for the curved case and bracelet links that make for an exceptionally sublime wearing experience and comfort. And I’m not using the word “exceptional” casually here. Despite its more ergonomic take on the classic shape, it still possesses all the visual appeal (many can’t tell the difference between them from top view photos) and historical lineage… coming from the very same line that was the world’s first men’s wristwatch, the world’s first pilot’s watch and Cartier’s first-ever steel watch. This one’s in absolutely exquisite condition, whether in terms of the coveted Gen 3 bracelet with a concealed clasp, the case, the original off-white dial, dial furniture and everything else really. Comes with the Cartier warranty card too. Dial, printing, crystal, hands and date wheel all pristine. Caseback engravings deep and clear. Movement in excellent health and quartz-accurate.
