The case is slim and restrained, the dial is easy to read, and the Roman numerals give it just enough formality to establish its character. Nothing is oversized, exaggerated or particularly eager to stand out. It is simply a conventional Swiss dress watch, executed in the language Longines has used for generations.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe dial is perhaps where the Présence makes the strongest case for itself. The black Roman numerals, slender hands and framed date are clearly defined against the white dial, with plenty of space between each element. There is a certain discipline to the layout: nothing competes for attention, and nothing feels added simply for the sake of decoration.
