Over time, it even became the chosen platform for key technical milestones, such as Omega’s first co-axial escapement and first anti-magnetic central tourbillon. This particular example is a slightly larger “Ellipse” for those with bigger watch preferences and equipped with contemporary niceties like a sapphire crystal, automatic movement with hacking seconds and quickset date. The stepped bezel and beefy angular lugs impart a masculine on-wrist presence. We would put this firmly in the daily\/casual camp, much more so than dressy as is the usual assumption for ellipse-shaped watches.
