Cartier Baignoire Eggshell Roman Dial SM w/ Box & Cartier Service Papers Ref. 8057910 (circa 1990s)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
With the return to smaller watches in recent years, the rise of “wrist accessory more than a watch” subculture, and just how enchanting these are in the metal, Baignoires occupy a high-ranking position in today’s Cartier mania. Named after opera VIP “baignoire” seating, not “bathtubs” as is often mistaken, Baignoires are the quintessential blurred line between wrist accessory and timepiece. Luxurious, sculptural, unfussy and confident in its perfect proportions. Neither too loud to be crass, nor too subtle to be missed. No wonder style icons and celebrities (both male and female) are rocking them. Also the model family with a direct evolutionary line to pinnacle Cartier: the Crash! Here we have a killer Small Model (“SM”) in solid 18K yellow gold. Larger than the Mini; better showcasing the curved eggshell dial and suitable for both women and men (who have the confidence for it). In beautiful condition with a Cartier box, used Cartier strap (new aftermarket replacement included) and Cartier buckle, as well as Cartier service papers from 2025. A must-have for Cartier connoisseurs!

CONDITION:
9.5/10 with minimal hairlines. Serviced by Cartier in Jan 2025, including light case refinishing, new crystal and crown (original Cartier replacements), and an updated Cartier movement for improved power efficiency and accuracy. Crucially, the original “Swiss”-only dial and blued hands were untouched, as clearly Cartier agrees they are perfect as is. Caseback retains deep engravings and hallmarks. Original Cartier strap is used but has plenty of life remaining, but we’re including a new aftermarket one. Original Cartier buckle. Movement in excellent health, and is quartz-accurate.
