Named after opera VIP “baignoire” seating, not “bathtubs” as is often mistaken, Baignoires are the quintessential blurred line between wrist accessory and timepiece. Luxurious, sculptural, unfussy and confident in its modest but architectural proportions. No wonder style icons and celebrities (both male and female) are rocking them. It’s also the model family with a direct evolutionary line to pinnacle Cartier: the Crash! Here we have a killer Mini in solid 18K white gold. No crown, for that perfect uninterrupted case shape. The ideal size platform (not too large) for the aftermarket diamond-set bezel executed by world-renowned Cartier specialist jeweller Le Mirais in Osaka. One of the best aftermarket gem-setting we’ve seen in a watch! In extraordinary near NOS (New Old Stock) condition with inner and outer Cartier long boxes, aftermarket strap with original Cartier buckle, and Le Mirais papers from 2023. An absolute steal when similar diamond-set modern Baignoires retail for MYR92,500!
CONDITION: 9.5/10 with minimal hairlines. The original “Swiss”-only eggshell dial, blued hands and crystal are pristine. Caseback engravings and hallmarks deep and crisp. Aftermarket strap is used but has plenty of life remaining. Original Cartier buckle. Movement in excellent health, and is quartz-accurate.
