WHY WE CURATED IT:
The Cartier Colisée is a lesser-hyped Must de Cartier. The Must line is Cartier’s initiative to democratise luxury with more affordable watches in 20-micron gold-plated 925 sterling silver (“Vermeil”), cutting back on the use of gold, but still very much full precious metal. The design is distinct from, and as distinctive as Tanks, with circular cases (inspired by Roman colosseums), T-bar lugs and the unmistakable cabochon-ed crowns. Very timeless, and especially in this particular variant with a golden “art deco fan” dial, it is also seldom seen. Paired with a beautifully-matched, gold-toned woven free-adjust bracelet, as well as the original (used) green Cartier crocodile strap and Cartier buckle. Fantastic value that belies a less common, more sculptural, and an absolutely gorgeous Cartier!
