Testament to how hard this configuration is to come by, the last time we found one good enough to meet our criteria was over 14 months ago. Finally, here we are again! One of the most sought-after, most elegant vintage Must de Cartier Tanks in excellent condition! The importance of 70s Tank Musts is often overlooked. Instrumental in saving Cartier 50 years ago when the economic boom of post-WWII France faded, and with it, demand for luxury. Cartier’s solution? Make accessible versions of the (otherwise full-gold) iconic Tank Louis but in gold-plated sterling silver, and fitting them with quartz calibres (but not this one!). This kept Cartier’s watch business afloat, unlike much of the European industry. Classy and stunning no matter your outfit. Comes with box, serviced and warrantied as well. Don’t sleep on this one! CONDITION: 9.5/10, with barely any hairlines/micro-nicks. Original Swiss-only dial has very subtle spidering visible only under bright lights and magnification. Spidering is reassurance to keen collectors that the dial is a period-correct, unreplaced original. Hands, crown cabochon and crystal all clean. Caseback engravings deep and crisp. New aftermarket strap with original Cartier pin buckle.
