WHY WE CURATED IT: We’ve had quite a few Santos Carrées, but this is only our third Galbée. Despite Carrées typically getting more spotlight as an earlier expression of Cartier’s first square integrated sports watch, I’ve always personally preferred Galbées for the curved case and bracelet links that make for an exceptional wearing experience and sublime comfort. And I’m not using the word “exceptional” casually here. Despite its more ergonomic take on the classic shape, it still possesses all the visual appeal (many can’t tell the difference between them from top view photos) and historical lineage… coming from the very same line that was the world’s first men’s wristwatch, the world’s first pilot’s watch and Cartier’s first-ever steel watch. This one’s in stellar condition, whether in terms of the bracelet, the case, the original off-white dial, navy blue dial details and everything else really. Comes with the Cartier warranty card too. Absolutely love it and my favourite from this drop!
CONDITION: 9.5/10, with very few hairlines, a few microscopic nicks, no dents, no corrosion, no gouges. The bezel remains upright and thick, with recessed bezel screws. Chamfers are present and catch the light. Finishing transitions crisp. Dial, printing, crystal, hands and date wheel all pristine. Caseback engravings deep and clear. Movement in excellent health and quartz-accurate.
