WHY WE CURATED IT:
Before Speedmasters, the most notable Omegas were Constellations—Omega’s first chronometers to reach mass production and a collector favourite till today. All Constellations were chronometers and feature an engraving on the caseback with an observatory and 8 stars signifying the 8 awards Omega won prior. Gerald Genta designed the 1st pie-pan ones, as well as this 3rd case variant dubbed “C” for the case sides resembling two mirrored Cs. A distinctive style with great sporty presence pre-dating the popular Seiko turtles. The example here is from the late 60s, the second C variant with an updated calibre and ultra-versatile all-silver presentation. Exceptional legibility with black hands and faceted indices with black onyx stone inlays. Comes with an aftermarket free-adjust tuck bracelet. Serviced and warrantied.
CONDITION:
8.5/10, with minimal hairlines and micro-nicks from honest careful wear over the last half century plus. The distinctive chamfers and finishing transitions of the case and bezel remain sharp. Original Omega-signed crystal (microscopic marks visible only under magnification) and crown. Dial, hands and indices are all clean. Used aftermarket free-adjust tuck bracelet in good condition. Movement serviced with a 6-month warranty and running well with near-spec power reserve, good amplitude, low-to-moderate beat error and accurate to ±30 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
