Omega Constellation C Steel Date “Anthracite Sunburst” Ref. 168.017 (circa 1969)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
Much has been said about this landmark Omega Constellation C-Case model line by Gerald Genta. Naturally, we too have much to say about it, so we’ve compiled our research into a deep-dive tribute in a new Articles section on this website. The variant here is a pretty early model from 1969, now almost 60 years old and in great shape! A very sharp case, stealthy dark anthracite dial, creamy tritium lume, polished faceted indices that pop with the light. And a less-common radially-brushed bezel. Fitted with a beautifully harmonious new sage green strap. A very handsome timepiece in a seldom-seen configuration. Serviced and warrantied.

CONDITION:
8.5/10 with some hairlines and micro-nicks on what is a very sharp, likely unpolished case. Lustre is still excellent on this one and the chamfers on the case flanks are broad and clean. Dial is clean with just small bits of staining around the applied star. Indices are clean with their tritium lume plots intact, patinated to a creamy hue, and responding correctly to UV for age. Polished hands are pristine except for some small tritium loss on the hour hand. Original Omega-signed crystal has microscopic marks with no impediment to the view. Original signed crown. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement serviced with 6 months warranty and returning stellar performance, with to-spec power reserve, strong amplitude, negligible beat error and accurate to ±3 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
