Omega Constellation C Steel Day-Date “Silver Linen” Ref. 168.029 (circa 1969)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
Much has been said about this landmark Omega Constellation C-Case model line by Gerald Genta. Naturally, we too have much to say about it, so we’ve compiled our research into a deep-dive tribute in a new Articles section on this website. The variant here is a pretty early model from 1969, now almost 60 years old and looking way better than me! The case remains sharp with its lines and chamfers, with a particularly rich frosty/linen dial that goes from light silver to deeper grey depending on light and angle, with all lume plots intact. The solid white gold fluted bezel is exceptionally sharp. A particularly fetching example and my favourite from this drop. Paired with a taupe grained strap, this piece just sings and it will be sad to see it go. Serviced and warrantied.

CONDITION:
9/10 with some hairlines and micro-nicks. Case form intact, and possibly unpolished with sharp edges, chamfers and finishing transitions. Dial, hands and indices are pristine. Tritium lume plots intact and respond to UV correctly for age, with darkened plots on the dial and very beautiful creamy ones on the hands. Solid white gold bezel is particularly sharp and appears untouched by any refinisher. Original Omega-signed crystal has microscopic marks but no impediment to a clear view of the dial. Original signed crown. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement serviced with 6 months warranty and tests with commendable performance: near-spec power reserve, good amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±10 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
