Omega De Ville “Ellipse” Champagne Dial Ref. 111.0148 (circa 1975)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
The De Ville line holds a special place in Omega history. Originally a sub-collection of the Seamaster range, it diverged into a standalone line by 1967, offering refined pieces within the brand’s increasingly sport-oriented catalog. Over time, it even became the platform for many Omega firsts, such as their first co-axial escapement and first anti-magnetic central tourbillon. This particular De Ville perfectly captures that refinement shift with a lovely ellipse case in 20-micron gold plating and utterly sublime proportions on the wrist. Judiciously complemented by a champagne vertically-brushed dial. Slightly dressy but with a substantial enough footprint, and easily dressed down with a strap change to double as an elegant daily. High-boxed and gently-domed original Omega-signed Hesalite crystal for that vintage vibe. Serviced and warrantied.

CONDITION:
8.5/10, with a small sprinkling of hairlines and micro-nicks from honest careful wear over the last half a century. Overall presentation remains sharp and edges remain defined. Dial has very slight aging, visible only under specific lighting and from specific angles. Crystal, hands and indices are clean. Original Omega-signed crown. Lightly used aftermarket top grain leather strap and buckle. Movement serviced with a 6-month warranty, returning near-spec power reserve, moderate amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±30 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
