WHY WE CURATED IT: De Villes are special in Omega’s history. Originally a sub-set of Seamasters, they became a standalone line as a home for technical milestones (eg. Omega’s first co-axial escapement and first anti-magnetic central tourbillon) as well as avant-garde design experiments. In the 60s, Omega had famously convinced a reluctant Andrew Grima, rockstar British jeweller from London’s Mayfair, to collaborate on a once-off series of watches that “tell time through gemstones”. These were high-end bespoke pieces, and one of Grima’s conditions before agreeing was that the pieces must carry no Omega branding. Luckily for us, Omega re-introduced De Villes under the “Time In Style” and “Jeux D’Argent” series in the 70s, a reimagining of Grima designs made affordable (and branded Omega). Like this one right here, a stunner crafted entirely in 925 Silver (including that killer integrated chainmail bracelet) with an eye-catching speckled blue lacquer dial and a respected legendary Omega Cal. 625 movement. Serviced and warrantied!
CONDITION: 9/10, without much signs of use. Case hallmarks still intact. Crystal, dial printing and hands are clean. “Lapis Lazuli”-style dial has subtle spidering, perfectly normal for a lacquer surface of this age, and in fact prized by keen collectors for period-correctness. Original signed crown. Bracelet is for small wrists (max. 14.8cm) but in very good condition with crisp hallmarks. Movement is serviced with a 6-month warranty and returning to-spec power reserve, high amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±5 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
