Omega De Ville “Squircle” Blue Clous de Paris Dial Ref. 151.0045 (circa 1972)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
The De Ville line holds a special place in Omega history. Originally a sub-collection of the Seamaster range, it diverged into a standalone line by 1967, offering refined pieces within the brand’s increasingly sport-oriented catalog. Over time, it even became the platform for many Omega firsts, such as their first co-axial escapement and first anti-magnetic central tourbillon. This particular example is a lovely squircle case with 20-micron white gold plating and a stepped bezel, a spectacularly stunning Clous de Paris textured blue dial, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and Omega’s thinnest ever automatic calibre at 3mm. A stunning and handsome watch dripping with 70s vibes, making for a practical, versatile, elegant yet masculine daily driver or dress piece. Serviced and warrantied.

CONDITION:
8/10, with some honest wabi-sabi hairlines and micro-nicks from honest careful wear over the last 5+ decades. Overall presentation remains sharp and edges remain defined. Clous de Paris dial has very slight aging patina. Crystal, hands and indices are clean. Original Omega-signed crown. Fitted to a steel aftermarket bracelet (used, in fair condition) with an extra aftermarket leather strap and buckle included (both new). Movement serviced with a 6-month warranty, returning near-spec power reserve, excellent amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±25 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
