Omega Geneve Grey Dial Date Ref. 136.0104 (circa 1975)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
Genève models are some of the best value Omegas. Initially a flagship dress line in the 50s, Genèves took a backseat in the 60s as Speedmasters/Seamasters rose to fame. But Omega kept iterating and by the late 60s–70s, were experimenting with various shapes and formats. However, they still produced a handful of more perennial classic references that can double as both daily casuals as well as dressy pieces. What we have here is a perfect example of that, with a classic case shape, an ultra-versatile grey sunburst dial and ultra-legible white hands. Equipped with a fairly modern automatic Cal. 1030, well-regarded as one of Omega’s more reliable high-beat manual-wind movements. A well-preserved time capsule of 1970s charm and a great addition to any collection. Serviced and warrantied.

CONDITION:
9/10, with some shallow hairlines and micro-nicks. Case form completely intact, and possibly unpolished. Dial and hands pristine. Tritium lume plots intact and respond to UV correctly for age, with delicious pumpkin patina. Indices have very slight signs of aging. Original signed crystal has some microscopic marks but no impediment to a clear view of the dial. Original signed crown. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement serviced with 6 months warranty and in good health, with to-spec power reserve, moderate amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±5 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
