WHY WE CURATED IT:
Our first Shellman… a storied IYKYK brand! Shellman is a legendary Tokyo watch and jewellery retailer, internationally lauded for pioneering and transforming the Japanese vintage watch market since 1971. From uncovering vintage gems to championing independent watchmaking (over half of the first run of Philippe Dufour’s Simplicity watches were retailed through Shellman!), the company remains highly respected by the world of serious watch collecting. In the early 2000s, Shellman set out to create a line of refined, highly-finished high complication watches using top-of-the-line quartz complication calibres to serve the Japanese collector community. Originally meant as Japanese Domestic Market offerings of accessible high horology, international collectors quickly took notice and various Shellman watches began to appear in top tier collectors’ watchboxes worldwide. The pinnacle of these watches is this Grand Complication Premium, powered by Citizen’s flagship Campanola-series caliber with a split-seconds chronograph, perpetual calendar, moonphase and minute repeater. All dressed exquisitely (in this case with rose gold ion plating - one of the hardiest forms of PVD) with many noteworthy details such as the concave bezel, stepped lugs, utterly gorgeous guilloche dial, Breguet hands, triple-stepped subdials and more. These don’t show up often at all, so don’t miss this chance at a high horology timepiece with a super-interesting back story, all without breaking the bank!

CONDITION:
9/10, with some shallow hairlines and tiny micro-nicks. No peeling or wear down of the plating. Dial, hands, crystal are pristine (except for a microscopic age spot on the 3 o’clock subdial. Original crown and pushers. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement is in excellent health, quartz-accurate and every single function has been tested and work perfectly.
