WHY WE CURATED IT:
An absolutely beautiful UG with not just the hooded, hinged, reversible, crab claw lugs we’ve come to love, but also a horizontal oval case shape and an exquisite deep black lacquer dial with applied UG logo and only indices in the cardinal positions. Truly an exceptionally elegant and versatile piece but we must warn you that onlookers may harass you to find out more about it lol. Interestingly shaped watches are so typical of the 60s and 70s and as relevant as ever today. Followers know our love for UG. Once a high-end brand, crushed by the quartz era, but on the verge of revival under Breitling. Beyond hyped models like Polerouters/Tri-Compax are uncommon, dressy treasures like this, waiting to be discovered at amazing value. Serviced and warrantied.
CONDITION:
9.5/10 with minimal shallow hairlines. Appears to have no refinishing as all case lines, bevels and facets remain crisp and hallmarks intact on the case sides. Original signed crown. Crystal, hands and markers are clean with a sprinkling of microscopic specks on the crystal. Lacquer dial has no spidering. Caseback engravings crisp and deep. Original UG strap is used, with its original UG signed buckle. We are including a new aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement serviced with 6-month warranty, in very good condition with near-spec power reserve, high amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±10 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
